OBSERVATORY EQUIPMENT
This is what makes up the 0.3 meter Richfield Observatory:
Dome: Technical Innovations
"Home Dome 10' with Pro modifications" Weather (wind speed,
humidity, rain, snow) interlocks, Digital Dome Works automation
Mount: Software Bisque
Paramount ME
Camera: Santa Barbara
Instrument Group ST-10XME CCD Camera with KAF-3200ME Kodak Sensor
Software: TheSky Level IV
Version 5, CCDSoft, Maxim/DL image processing, Digital Dome Works,
HomeSeer
Optics: Takahashi Epsilon 300,
Pentax 105SD, Intes MN86
I'll have more on each one of these items in the future- but right now
it's just a list.
The two most interesting things here are the Paramount and the
Epsilon. I waited over two years to get the Paramount- it
looks like it is milled out of a solid piece of aluminum- and the
integration with the software is wonderful. The
Epsilon is the primary optic, and it's a 300mm f/3.8 hyperbolic
astrograph. If this was a camera lens, the spec would be
1100mm f/3.8! It's a 16" diameter tube thats a little over
40" long and weighs 100 lbs.
I will have pictures here soon.
